In the frame of the recent 5-years contract awarded by ESA in order to provide the new generation of cryogenically cooled feed receivers for Deep Space Stations, Callisto has achieved a milestone.
Callisto sucessfully qualified the X-band high power junction that will be operated jointly with the next generation of cryo cooled feed receiver.
This power junction acts as a diplex and is able to withstand 20kW of transmitted power at X-band. In addition, it acts also as a polariser able to emit circularly-polarised signals.
No degradation of performance nor arcing or power breakdown issue were detected during the qualification tests, which paves the way for the deploymnent in the following years of the operational units for all the ESA DSAs.
