Meteo Product Software Engineer : Closed
Callisto is seeking to recruit an additional engineer for its client based in Germany.
As a member of the Meteorological Product Operations Team, the engineer will design and implement improvement to the Meteo Product Verification and analysis Tool, to the Automated Monitoring System. He /she will support the design and implementation of the new visualisation tools in the new reprocessing environment
As a minimum the candidate should have the following qualifications and abilities:
• A University degree in engineering or equivalent.
• An experience of processing satellite or meteorological data, specifically in
• Operational environment
• Software development in C and Fortran77/90 in a UNIX environment
• Implementation and testing of algorithm software
• Configuration Control of software and data
Desirably the engineer shall have
• Experience in software design using of graphical software
• Basic knowledge of ORACLE
• Basic knowledge in remote sensing or meteorology
• Languages: Fluent English. A good knowledge of. French is an advantage.
• Self-organisation skills
• EU National or a current valid work permit to work in an EU country.
The position, will be for an initial contract of 3 years ( +1year option). The employment package includes supplemental insurance package contributed to by the company (health care, retirement and disability), an employee saving scheme linked to company performance. Salary will be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications.
