Unix Application Software Engineering Support :Closed
CALLISTO is seeking to recruit an additional engineer for its client based in Germany. As a member of Data Processing Systems Team in the Maintenance and Engineering Division, the applicant will provide support to the maintenance and development of the meteorological satellite facilities.
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
• Have a degree the relevant discipline
• Have some experience of Software design, development , and testing
• Configuration controlled software build environments and experience with the operation or maintenance in large real time monitoring, control/ data processing systems.
• Have work experience, in the UNIX SVR4 operating system environment and should be familiar with networking and TCP/IP services
• CC++ programming languages
• HP - UX 11 or HP-UX 11i
• Basic UNIX System administration
• Database programming ( Sybase and or Oracle)
• MS access, visual basic programming
• Languages: English (reading, written, spoken) mandatory, German and or French knowledge being considered as an asset.
• Be able to integrate into and /or to lead cross functional project teams.
• Have good communications skills for both oral presentations and written output, analytical sense, self-organisation qualities, coordination and priority setting abilities
• EU National or a current valid work permit to work in an EU country.
The position will be for an initial contract of 2 years (+2 years option). The employment package includes supplemental insurance package contributed to by the company (health care, retirement and disability). Salary will be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications.
