Due to an expansion of its business, Callisto is seeking to recruit and additional engineer for its engineering team based in our offices in France. This team is engaged in studies related to satellite communications and in the development of specialised RF equipment for satellite ground stations. The responsibilities of the selected candidate will typically include; undertaking research and studies in ground/satellite communications problems, developing system level designs of ground stations, definition and specification of antennas and RF circuits, simulation of communications channels, analysis of signal processing elements, preparation of engineering drawings, preparation of reports & documentation.
As a minimum the candidate should have the following qualifications and abilities:
• A high level University qualification in Electronics Engineering, which includes significant elements of the following subjects; communications, radio frequency & electromagnetics, signal processing.
• At least 2 years professional experience working in a relevant position.
• Computer literate: MS Office applications
• Languages: French & English (reading, written, spoken) to a good level.
• Flexibility and motivation in order to work effectively in a small company environment.
• Good communications skills for both oral presentations and written output.
• Good analytical abilities, self-organisation skills and the motivation to learn new skills.
• EU National or a current valid work permit to work in an EU country.
In addition to the above, preference will be given to a candidate having experience in one or more of the following:
• Satellite Ground Systems (Antennas, LNAs, RF converters, baseband Equipment)
• RF & Microwave techniques including design & testing of RF circuits.
• Communications simulation tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink)
• Antenna design software (e.g. GRASP)
• Software development using NI LabView.
• Thermal engineering and cryogenics.
The position, which will be subject to French national employment conditions, will be for an indefinite duration. The employment package includes supplemental insurance package contributed to by the company (health care, retirement and disability), an employee saving scheme linked to company performance. Starting salary between €33000 and €44000 depending on experience and qualifications. A small relocation allowance will be considered if applicable.
